From CEO's Desk

A warm welcome to our website

Society for Empowerment, Education and Development (SEED) has a legacy of distinction. Our work is built on the foundation of core values and long-standing traditions of the organisation. Over the years, we have indeed undergone exponential and overwhelming expansion in regard to health and social development pursuit, which are derived from national and international priorities. We report with pleasure that our various research and developmental projects, aimed to strengthen the national health system and programmes, have contributed towards SEED's recognition as a top quality research and development organisation in health, both nationally and internationally. These have also offered us some of the greatest opportunities to redefine our own priorities and revolutionise the way we work, and also provided the impetus to add greater value in the way we deliver on our commitments to our partners and stakeholders.

Our scope of work focuses in four areas: (1) quality health care to the poor; (2) capacity development; (3) technical assistance; and (4) research and development. Health remains an integral component of SEED’s activities, especially for women and the poor. Our focus on evidence-led and science-driven research and innovation has enabled us to influence policies and practice in various health-related issues, both at home and abroad. This has given us many opportunities to be a leading voice in pioneering and progressing local and global developments in health and social sector agenda.

As a collaborating organisation of various national programmes in Bangladesh, we have been playing an active and pivotal role in promoting Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) in health in the region and beyond. Our expertise in health research has broadened over the years as well, particularly in the fields of education and capacity development. This has allowed us to develop more skilled human resources in the health sector.

While celebrating our past achievements, we are also looking forward to our journey ahead and are mindful of the forces of changes that have tremendous impact on SEED and our ability to continue fulfilling our mission effectively and efficiently. Drawing inspiration from our core values, we will continue to strengthen our efforts to elevate our professional competencies and standards. We will remain committed to embracing the highest standards of integrity in all our research and development activities. We will do so while forging strategic linkages with partners across the national and international agencies that share our commitment to public health and social development.

Please share your thoughts and inputs. Thank you for your interest in our work and we look forward to you visiting our website again.
